The Innov865 Alliance is showcasing East Tennessee innovation again this year with Innov865 Week 2018. StoragePug is among the six startups selected to take part in the Pitch Competition segment. The selection was made from a significant number of applicants.

Each startup in the competition has selected an ambassador to represent them in the competition. StoragePug's COO Tommy Nguyen has taken part in an elevator pitch with WATE Anchor Bo Williams – literally in an elevator – on Knoxville's own WATE. These 60-second pitches are previews of the full five minute pitches that each startup will be giving during Startup Day 2018. Take a look at Tommy's elevator pitch below!

Up for grabs is a total of $10,000 in cash. $3,000 will be awarded to the "crowd favorite" pitch, for which the crowd will vote during the competition. $7,000 will be awarded to the panel of judges' favorite.

The Startup Day 2018 judges are:

  • Eric Meyerson – Head of Marketing at Sensei Marketing, a new startup that helps business form their online presence with the help of artificial intelligence. Eric is also a former marketing executive at Facebook, YouTube, and Eventbrite.
  • Mike Stephens – Chief Integrations Officer at Ministry Brands, a family of software companies dedicated to empowering churches & ministries in a digital world.
  • Sue Malone – President of Strategies for Small Business at Superior Financial Group where she is the number one provider of SBA Export Express and SBA SLA v.2 and director of marketing.

For all interested in attending, the Startup Day 2018 Pitch Competition will be held at The Mill and Mine on September 25 from 2-5 PM. For more information, follow this link or register on Eventbrite here.

StoragePug is fervently anticipating the competition and we hope to see some familiar faces in the audience!
