It lets you show tenants you’re paying attention. And even though you can’t stop the tornado or hurricane from approaching, choosing to close shows tenants you value their safety.
A passing storm may not be enough to close your storage facility completely, but if the National Weather Service advises sheltering or evacuating in the face of an incoming disaster, it’s best to protect yourself, your employees, and your tenants.
Keeping a line of communication up with other local businesses or checking to see if other public offices have closed is a good indicator of how bad the storm might get. As long as you communicate, your tenants will understand.
